TidyBar collects nothing and sends nothing. Here’s the detail.
Last updated 1 January 2026
Short version: no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no network connections from the app.
What we collect
Nothing. TidyBar never asks for your name, email, location or device ID, and creates no hidden identifier for you. There is no sign-in because there is no account.
The apps contain no analytics, advertising, attribution, session recording or crash reporting tools.
What stays on your device
TidyBar saves your settings locally so it behaves the same next time:
- Where the divider sits and which icons fall on each side
- Whether the second shelf is on
- Your shortcut and auto-hide delay
- Whether the app starts at login
These are written to the standard settings location on your own machine. We cannot read them. Uninstalling removes them.
To arrange the bar, TidyBar needs to see the icons in it. Some systems ask you to grant that permission at first launch. It is used only to move and hide icons on screen — nothing is recorded or sent.
Network connections
The apps make no outbound connections. No update check, no licence check, no background sync. Blocking TidyBar at your firewall changes nothing, because there was nothing to block.
This website
The site is static. No cookies, no analytics, no advertising. The only third-party request is to Google Fonts for the typefaces, which exposes your IP address to Google as part of serving the file. Ask us and we’ll send you a build with the fonts hosted locally.
Our host keeps ordinary server logs (IP, page, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting. They are not linked to a person or used for profiling.
App stores
Installing from a store means that store’s privacy policy applies to the download. Any figures a store passes to us are aggregate install counts, never information about individuals.
If you email us
We keep your message and address long enough to answer you. No mailing list, no sharing. Ask us to delete the thread and we will.
Children
TidyBar is a general-purpose utility and is not aimed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, children included.
Your rights
You have rights to access, correct, export and erase personal data held about you. Ours are easy to honour: apart from a support email you may have sent, we hold nothing about you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that ever collected data would be opt-in and described here first.
